Wasilla Family Auto LLC - a mechanic shop in Wasilla

The Word on Wasilla Family Auto LLC

In June of 2018, Bill Hancock and his family purchased Wasilla Family Auto, a local Wasilla auto repair shop in business since the early 1980s. The acquisition is a dream-come-true for Bill—he had been commuting to Anchorage from Palmer and wished to have a business in the Matanuska Susitna Valley, closer to home, family, and church. Already, he has made many improvements to the property and facility, such as leveling out the parking lot to make it smoother, painting the outside of the building, purchasing and improving equipment, and streamlining workflow.

Bill’s Auto Repair Background & Experience

Bill became interested in auto repair when he was in high school back in Maryland. He attended Harford Vocational Technical High School for Automotive and graduated in 1983. Then, in 1985, he moved to Alaska to be closer to his father and worked at many auto repair shops in Anchorage, while saving up money to open his first shop. In 2000, CPR Automotive started out on Viking Drive in the Port of Anchorage and has since moved to 1341 Bragaw Street in Anchorage, next door to a Holiday gas station. The business has prospered and grown to be one of Anchorage’s best auto repair shops.

Today, Bill has nearly 40 years of auto repair experience. He was a certified I/M technician for the duration of Alaska's I/M program, and he has been ASE-certified in brakes, suspension and steering, and automatic transmissions. Bill and all the mechanics at Wasilla Family Auto regularly attend training classes from all our parts vendors when available.
